In memoriam: Diane Roth Cohen

Photo of Diane Roth CohenIt is with great sadness that we share the passing of Diane Roth Cohen, a beloved staff member, mentor, and friend in the School of Public and International Affairs. Diane’s work was integral to the success of the Ford Institute for Human Security for more than fifteen years and impacted the lives of many during her time at the University of Pittsburgh. Her obituary, included below, was originally shared by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on April 20, 2025. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time. She will be so deeply missed. 

On Sunday, April 19, 2025. Beloved wife of Nat Cohen; loving mother of Jason (fiancé, Eric Golden) Cohen, Geoffrey Cohen, and Abby Cohen; beloved daughter of Ruth and the late Gerald Roth; sister of Martin Roth. Diane was a long-time employee at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. She was a loving mentor to her students, and treated them as if they were her own family. Graveside service and interment will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 2 PM, at Beth Shalom Cemetery.
